In a single visit, our specialists will assess the health of your eyes using five tests.
We examine the patient’s visual capacity or percent of vision in each eye to provide an accurate diagnosis and achieve optimal vision correction to 100%.
We perform an examination of the cornea and lens.
We measure the intraocular pressure of the eye. A checkup is recommended around age 40 years, particularly in the case of a family history.
Vitreous cavity and retina: The vitreous cavity occupies most of the interior of the eye, specifically between the lens and the retina. It contains a clear liquid of gelatinous consistency –known as vitreous humor– that maintains the shape of the eyeball and the position of the retina.
Colour photographs of the fundus of the eye to confirm that there is no injury to the retina or optic nerve, damage that could lead to a loss of visual field. If they wish, patients can receive a digital copy of the image by e-mail. www.optos.com
